In the midst of the Adidas Samba craze, the shoe is getting another makeover. Hello Kitty fans, rejoice!
This time, the athletic brand is teaming up with Hello Kitty for another iteration of its popular style, called the Hello Kitty x Adidas Samba 2.0. A first look at the collaboration was revealed on Kicksdong’s Instagram account on Tuesday.
The new style follows the same basic mold as seen on Adidas’ popular shoe, with a few key differences. For instance, the typical sole is replaced with a chunky, pink semi-translucent version. As far as the rest of the shoe goes, the sneaker is given the standard three stripes and toe overlays in a soft black suede material that contrasts with the clean white leather upper.
A black and white Hello Kitty character print is seen covering the entire upper, as well as Hello Kitty branding on the insoles and lateral side of the sneaker. Lastly, light pink accents adorn the ribbed heels that match the sole, and sharp white laces tie the shoes together.
No release date has been confirmed for the Hello Kitty x Adidas Samba 2.0 yet, but it’s likely these will be available at adidas.com as well as select retailers later this year.
The two brands worked together before, creating a new take on the Stan Smith shoe, which was announced back in March. So, if you can’t wait for the Sambas, Adidas x Hello Kitty Stan Smiths are on sale right now. The iconic shoe even features the beloved character in the form of a pouch as well as a fuzzy heel patch.
Hello Kitty has also teamed up with Crocs with a fun new pink printed clog and accompanying Jibbitz collection. The brand also released a blue Hello Kitty print Nike Air Presto sneaker last year.
